Napier Citizens Advice Bureau are recruiting volunteers now! Volunteering with CAB Napier is perfect for you if you are: working part time and want to do something in your community, if you are planning to re-enter the workforce after a break, or if you are newly retired or about to retire. We provide the ideal opportunity to give your brain a good workout while contributing to the wellness of our community by joining a well-established and respected voluntary organisation. If you enjoy a challenge, have great people skills and can use a computer, then you are an ideal candidate to join our training programme to become a CAB volunteer interviewer.

CAB is a not-for-profit organisation, operated by trained, local volunteers. We provide an impartial and confidential information and advice service about people’s rights, responsibilities and services available. We are here for everyone, about anything and cover a wide range of issues. Our services are free to the community. We have a Justice of the Peace available daily, and there is a free Lawyer clinic on a Saturday morning. CAB Napier provides a settlement support service to migrants new to Hawke’s Bay. We can provide assistance to settle into the community. We offer information and advice to members of the public either face to face or by telephone or email.
Must be able to use a computer and telephone and have good literacy.
Needs to be available: At least one shift 3.50 hour shift each week – morning or afternoon
Morning shifts are 9:00 – 12:30
Afternoon shifts are 12:30 – 4:00
Occasional Saturday morning 9-11 on a roster
Full training and ongoing support / mentoring provided.
