(Archived) Dairy Farm Assistant

Our client is an industry leader in sustainable dairy; with innovative farming practices and state-of-the-art processing, they produce milk products for a global audience.

They’re looking for a Dairy Farm Assistant to join one of their farms close to Christchurch. This farm is a 260ha irrigated dairy farm located near Dunsandel, peak milking 950 cows through a 50-bale rotary shed with ACR and ProTrak. The farm receives wastewater from the nearby milk factory and works closely with the factory team.

You will assist the Farm Manager in achieving agreed production and profitability targets from the herd and farm resources, participating in all farm management activities as required.

To be considered for this role, you will need:

• At least 2 years experience working full time in any industry; agricultural work experience is preferred but not necessary
• NCEA Level 2
• Full, clean driver's licence
• Good verbal and written communication skills
• The ability to manage own time efficiently and productively
• A positive, can-do attitude
• An affinity for animals
• To be a strong team member who enjoys being a part of a successful team
• To provide a current CV with two contactable work references
• To pass a drug test
